Iran is prepared to reinitiate atomic discussions with Washington provided that it is handled with "dignity" and "respect", Tehran's foreign minister has announced.

Abbas Araghchi said exclusively dialogue worked, and disclosed new appeals had originated from mediators to resume discussions with the American leadership. He claimed Iran had zero unreported enrichment locations, and Iran had not yet reached a point to authorize the International Atomic Energy Agency to access attacked atomic facilities for safety concerns.

Navigating a Difficult Course

Araghchi is navigating a complex route since Iran does not want be perceived to be operating from a position of disadvantage, and he emphatically stated that Iran had arisen stronger militarily and psychologically from the Israeli-US attack on its nuclear sites in June.

He was speaking at a security conference in Tehran where he restated that Iran had "a fundamental entitlement to process nuclear material within its borders that it will perpetually retain" – the primary cause of the deadlock in the previous talks.

Prior Negotiations Suddenly Ended

The previous five rounds of negotiations between the United States and Iran were brought to an abrupt and hostile termination on 12 June when Israel, with Washington's assistance, struck Iran's enrichment centers in a two-week conflict that ended with Donald Trump asserting the locations had been destroyed. Subsequently, European countries employed their privilege to reinstate global restrictions, but Iran insists they have not had a significant effect.

Magic Solution Suggested

Tehran representatives stated they felt they had achieved a "perfect agreement" to the nuclear fuel concern in earlier negotiations, when it was agreed an Iran-based consortium with American involvement could enrich uranium. Both sides would have been able to assert triumph since domestic enrichment would have continued and the US could be assured that Iran's enrichment initiative was entirely non-military.

It had not been settled in the talks that US nuclear scientists could function on Iranian soil, but that was a logical implication of the partnership suggestion. The Iranian people have become more powerful, more integrated, and more backing of the leadership and the state in the wake of this invasion."
